The inCommon Skate Ramp Park is a Certified Pollinator Habitat by UNL Extension. Our goal is to care for and beautify this space. We’ll be pulling weeds, filling in open spaces with new flowers, and watering as needed. One of the main beds was dug up by utilities, so that will be replanted. We may order a Chip Drop of mulch and spread it if needed.

We will have a booth selling native wildflowers and grasses at the Joslyn Castle Art Walk. Plants are $4 each plus tax.
Cottonwood Creek Urban Habitat Restoration
Come help with restoration efforts at this urban prairie and woodlands. Our goals include continuing to restore ecological function and natural beauty. Activities include planting native trees and shrubs, clearing the fence line so we can mow a border, trash pickup, removal of invasive species, and weeding garden beds near the sidewalks. Bring work gloves.

Urban Conservation: Supporting Pollinators and Native Wildlife
Elizabeth Ardnt with Grasslands Unlimited will be speaking about Urban Conservation.
This talk will overview three ongoing Grasslands Unlimited conservation projects in Omaha, including approaches, planning, progress, learnings, challenges, triumphs, and why we continue. It will also provide steps we can each take to protect and nurture biodiversity in our own yards, from quick and simple to more involved.
